Power Struggle Intensifies Within PTI KP: Top Leaders Removed Amid Party Rift.
The internal power struggle within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has escalated, leading to the removal of two prominent leaders. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has dismissed Atif Khan, the President of PTI’s Peshawar Region, and Sher Ali Arbab, the President of District Peshawar, from their positions.
Atif Khan was reportedly removed due to his public support for the ousted Minister Shakeel Ahmed Khan, who had resigned earlier citing corruption within the provincial government. On the other hand, Sher Ali Arbab’s refusal to sign a declaration of confidence in the Chief Minister triggered his ouster.
These dismissals have resulted in significant reshuffling within the party, with Arbab Asim and Irfan Saleem being appointed to the vacated positions in Peshawar. This turmoil reflects deepening divisions within the PTI’s provincial leadership, further complicated by allegations of corruption and administrative interference.
