PCB chief naqvi laments lack of tools for surgery of pakistan team

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently expressed national cricket team.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently expressed deep concern over the lack of quality replacements within the national cricket team, following their disappointing defeat against Bangladesh in a Test match. Naqvi stated that while the team needs significant changes, often referred to as “surgery,” the current player pool is insufficient to implement these changes effectively. He emphasized that the selection committee lacks a robust talent pool to draw from, making it difficult to replace underperforming players with better alternatives.

Naqvi mentioned that the PCB is banking on the upcoming Champions Cup, a domestic tournament set to start in September, to identify and nurture new talent. This tournament will involve 150 players, selected with the help of artificial intelligence, to create a stronger bench for future international competitions. He warned that players who excel in this tournament could replace those currently in the national team, highlighting the PCB’s commitment to revamping the squad based on performance and data-driven decisions.
