Canada, bad news has come for foreign workers working in Canada. The Canadian government has decided that it will reduce the number of low-wage temporary foreign workers. This decision has been taken because the unemployment rate in the country has increased a bit, and the government wants Canadian companies to provide maximum employment to the people of their country.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also said today that from 26 September 2024, applications for low-wage foreign workers will be rejected in areas where unemployment is 6% or more. Also, companies will be allowed to hire foreign workers for only 10% of their total workforce, up from 20% previously. It was also decided that the employment duration of these workers will be reduced from two years to just one year.

But some sectors, such as healthcare, construction, and food security, have been exempted from these new restrictions.

These decisions were made to further strengthen the country’s economy and encourage businesses to invest in training and technology.
