The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has recently announced a significant discovery of oil and gas reserves in Sanghar district, Sindh. This discovery was made in the exploratory well named Chak-5 Dim South-3. The well was drilled to a depth of approximately 3,400 meters, and the test results showed that the well could produce around 2,000 barrels of oil per day and 1.3 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas. This discovery adds to the potential energy resources in the region and marks a notable achievement for OGDCL, which holds a 100% stake in the well.
This discovery is particularly important as it comes on the heels of another recent find in the same district, highlighting the rich potential of Sindh for contributing to Pakistan’s energy needs.
